Del Mar Community Connections

Spotlight on our friendship with the Del Mar Foundation

The Del Mar Foundation’s recent Community Picnic was a great time for all – we served the traditional volunteer-baked Del Mar lemon cake to newcomers and old friends alike while spreading the word about DMCC. And we listened to some entertaining bluegrass music while we did it! But it also gave us a great opportunity to reflect on all the things DMF does to benefit the community.

Just a few of the ways that DMF supports DMCC:

  • Funding our Tuesday Lunch Connections program, in which the most vulnerable older adult members of the community socialize and learn something new while enjoying a high-quality restaurant meal.
  • Providing office, meeting, and activity space inside the Del Mar Community Building.
  • Supporting Del Mar Rental Assistance by providing matching grant funding, which keeps some Del Mar households from homelessness.

Thank you DMF!

Volunteer of the Month – September

DMCC’s Volunteer of the Month for September 2025 was Judy Tullie, the co-facilitator of the Grief and Loss Sharing Group, organized in partnership with St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, that meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 10:30am. She was nominated by DMCC President Katie Militello who said, “Judy’s welcoming manner, compassion, and ability to create a space for participants to reflect, find strength and share their healing journey with others is an asset to this community.”

DMCC programs and services depend on our incredible volunteers! To learn more about Judy, or our talented volunteers and their roles, visit dmcc.cc/volunteerofthemonth.
