Good Afternoon Happy Hour

Summer is fast becoming a memory and now it’s time to think about everything pumpkin and happy hour in Del Mar!

Have you been to Coral yet? Coral, on Camino Del Mar at the former location of Zel’s, opened on April 16^th. They offer an elevated comfort vibe with a happy hour from 3:30 to 5:30 daily except major holidays. The happy hour menu is modern coastal, and if you like sliders, you are in for a treat: salmon, grilled chicken and burger sliders are all on the menu! Other bites include spam musabi, coconut shrimp, chimichurri chicken skewers, potato rolled tacos, and Hawaiian, garlic shrimp or vegetable flatbreads. There are also several drink specials. Welcome to Del Mar, Coral!

Seaside Grill, also located on Camino Del Mar, is a Mediterranean and Mexican restaurant with a happy hour from 2:30 to 5:30 Monday through Friday. The happy hour menu includes Mexican bites such as guacamole & chips, choice of carne asada, fish or polla asada tacos, ginger lime prawns and a Mexican combo plate. Mediterranean bites range from bread & olives, soup and salad, dolmades, hummus, popcorn shrimp, chicken wings, and a Mediterranean combo plate. Drink specials include margaritas, beer and wine, as well as pitchers of margaritas or beer for groups.

A familiar name to locals, Poseidon offers happy hour from 3:30-6:00 Monday through Friday. Specials include ahi tuna, blackened fish sliders, fish & chips, brussel sprouts, an artisanal cheese platter, and ahi tuna nachos. Select draft beer, wine and spirits are available as are some wonderful drink specials: the customer favorite is the Green Flash (house made spicy tequila, cucumber juice and agave); also on the menu are the Stingray Shuffle (with pear puree), Pacific Passion (with passion fruit puree) and Mysto Mezcalita (with watermelon puree). With a beautiful ocean front location, Happy hour is even happier!

At the Plaza, Shimbashi Izakaya, Japanese Tapas, Sushi and Sake Bar is tucked away on the second level, but once you find it, you will be delighted that you took the time to find this gem.  The trick is to take the stairs on the northwest side of the Plaza! Small plates, sushi & other Japanese dishes change with the seasons. There is also a sake bar & patio. Happy hour is from 5:00-6:00, Monday through Thursday (some holidays excepted). Since Izakaya is traditionally a Japanese “pub” you will find an extensive happy hour menu of nigiri sushi, rolls, and appetizers such as edamame, seaweed, a grilled salmon skin salad, baked mussels, and chicken karaage. The drinks menu includes signature cocktails, wine, Japanese beer, and micro brewed sake. The ambiance is relaxed and modern, and was named Open Tables’ “Diners Choice” in 2024.
