Alvarado House

Del Mar’s historic Alvarado House that was built on 10th Street in 1885 represents our rich and colorful history. Moved years ago to the Del Mar Fairgrounds, the house is only open to the public during the San Diego County Fair, when visitors can learn about bygone times. The Del Mar Historical Society has begun a campaign to relocate the Alvarado House back to Del Mar. The house would be open year round and serve as a museum, displaying our vast collection of memorabilia, artifacts, photographs, and books about our history. Options include city-owned property and purchase or donation of private property. To find out more go to delmarhistoricalsociety.org.
