Zel’s -> Coral Del Mar

Zel’s closing in February presented an opportunity for Amanda Devine and Gio Morelli to open Coral Del Mar—due mid-April.
The name Coral is inspired by living oceanic corals—and honors the Coral Tree growing on the site.
Owner Amanda, a native Del Marian who grew up on 10th Street and attended Torrey Pines High School, partnered with Gio. Both worked locally at Sbicca. While they plan some decorative changes, the historic Bully’s windows, bar area and the friendly neighborhood ambiance will be in place. The menu: a combination of dishes inspired by Hawaii, coastal and south Asian influences. Plus a special menu for dogs.
