Raised in Syracuse NY, Jeff Midland has been a local for over 20 years. In the restaurant business since 1999, Jeff heard that Sbicca might be for sale and met with founder Dan Sbicca. Jeff, his wife Josephine and Executive Chef Craig Ramirez bought the restaurant in 2023.
Josephine who grew up in La Jolla and understood how important Dan’s Sbicca was to locals. Talks with resident neighbors confirmed they liked it as is. Jeff reports: “We haven’t changed much. Many of the staff and chef Craig Jimenez remain in place. We kept the menu favorites and made subtle changes—adding some cocktails and mock tails.
