Happy Hour: Enjoy!

Everyone wants to know about Monarch!  Happy hour is Monday – Friday, 4 to 6pm (excluding holidays). The menu is coastal California and happy hour favorite bites are: crispy fish (halibut) sando; charred broccolini (with curried aioli and bonita flakes); crispy brussel sprouts (with a cherry balsamic reduction); Calabrian chili cavatappi (with fennel sausage) and potato & gruyere croquette ($8 each). Calidad beer and select wines are also on the menu ($7). The vibe at Monarch is lively, casual and family-friendly (the youngsters will like the salted chocolate chip cookies). If you’ve not tried Monarch, maybe now is the time!

On the street level of the Plaza is Tamarindo with a delightful happy hour, 3 to  5pm Monday – Friday (excluding holidays) in the bar area (which includes the booths). The vibe here is fun, relaxed and inviting, and the happy hour menu is delightful: Elote stuffed avocado (tempura avocado, corn, cotija, onion, chili thread and cilantro) for $7; BBQ spareribs (chipotle soy glazed pork ribs, honey, agave, cilantro, pepitas) for $9; street tacos (either 2 adobada or chicken) is $6; and chili lime shrimp (grilled shrimp, cabbage mix, coconut rice and lime) is $7. The bar menu is amazing: double pours for the price of a single margarita (ranging from $12.50 -$15), $2 off select wines, and Calidad lagers for $5.50. This is one happy hour that everyone needs to check out!

John Wingate had a great idea when he started En Fuego Cantina, and John and his crew have spent 29 years proudly serving the Del Mar community. The ambiance is warm, friendly and neighborly. Happy hour is 3 to 6pm, every day, even holidays! Best sellers during happy hour are the street tacos ($6) and chicken nachos ($9); also offered (and this is a partial list) are chicken or grilled fish tacos, cheese nachos, and cheese quesadillas, ($6). From the happy hour appetizer menu are carnitas tacos ($7), Cardiff Crack tacos ($8), fried avocado tacos ($8) and carne asada fries (10) and more! Margaritas range from $7 to $12; draft beers are $5. En Fuego has a happy hour menu that is sure to please everyone, so stop in one day and see for yourself!
