How will AI change medicine or education? How can I tell if a photo is AI-generated? Can AI help me to age safely at home? Join DMCC at Town Hall on Friday, May 17 and get your pressing questions about AI answered by Sudeepto Roy! As a follow-up to the DMF Talk held in April, Del Mar’s resident expert on artificial intelligence will address your theories, concerns, and confusion about technology that is already here and what is to come. Hello Beautiful
Have you ever joined DMCC and the Del Mar Library to meet authors and share your insights with others about great books at Page Turners? If not, this month is a great time to start – we’re welcoming major bestselling author Ann Napolitano on Thursday, May 16 at 2pm in a remote discussion of her novel Hello Beautiful. This Oprah’s Book Club pick is an exquisite homage to Louisa May Alcott’s timeless classic, Little Women, and is described as a “profoundly moving portrait of what is possible when we choose to love someone not in spite of who they are, but because of it.” Visit www.dmcc.cc/calendar for more information and to get the registration link.
Volunteer of the Month – April
DMCC’s Volunteer of the Month for April 2024 was a team of volunteers – Jeanie Grischy, Arlene Lighthall, and Carol Steblay, the facilitators of our Family Caregiver Support Group (held in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association). Jeanie, Arlene, and Carol trained extensively and channeled a lot of love into making it possible for DMCC to host a support group that was immediately successful – because as it turned out, there was a great need for it. DMCC programs and services depend on our incredible volunteers! To learn more about our support group facilitators or becoming a DMCC volunteer, visit dmcc.cc/volunteerofthemonth.
