Three seats on the Del Mar City Council will be selected by voters in November. Currently held bythree incumbents: Dave Druker, Tracy Martinez, and Dan Quirk.
Druker has signaled that three decades of politics is enough. Martinez is expected to run for re-election. Recent attack emails from Quirk against his four colleagues suggest he is gearing up for another run.
Other rumored candidates are Planning Commissioner John Spelich and Finance/Undergrounding Committee member Michael Minter.
Several other qualified prospects have expressed reluctance to expose them and their families to the attack campaign tactics of the Quirk family.
