DMCC’s 23rd Annual Benefit Gala is on October 7, and we have to share our deep gratitude for the community members who joined this year’s Honorary Committee. Led by chairs Susan and Judd Halenza, they make a generous gift to DMCC – contributions that truly sustain DMCC. The fundraising done during the time of the annual Gala provides DMCC with the ability to offer high-quality unique activities and keep older adults engaged in the community we all love. The funding also allows us to obtain resources for public outreach and honor our hardworking volunteers.
Volunteer of the Month – September
DMCC’s Volunteer of the Month for September 2023 was Kianna Black. Kianna is by far our youngest volunteer to ever win the award; as a senior at Frances Parker, she wasn’t even born when DMCC was founded! Kianna has been independently creating brain game puzzles for DMCC participants on a monthly basis for three years. She was nominated for this award by DMCC staff because she spent her summer with us, helping around the office and succeeding at any task we threw at her.
DMCC programs and services depend on our incredible volunteers! To learn more about Kianna or becoming a DMCC volunteer, visit dmcc.cc/volunteerofthemonth.
