Since a picture is worth a thousand words, in this month’s column, we’ll let photos do most of the talking.
DMF’s Young Del Mar Committee created the most photogenic event ever with its Easter “Hop” at the Del Mar Plaza on April 8. (Thanks to the Del Mar Library for the children’s craft activity to make those cute bags!)
The Del Mar Garden Club wins the prize for getting the first of the “40 Trees Celebrating DMF’s 40th Anniversary” in the ground – the Metrosideros ‘Spring Fire’ in front of Mary Friestedt in the photo at left, planted at the Del Mar Library. DMF’s grant was tiny, but the reward will be outsized once this tree grows up its new home.
Many volunteers pitched in to plan and install the Monarch Butterfly Demonstration Garden at the Civic Center, funded by a DMF grant. It was planted on March 28, and is thriving in the organic soil added to the planting bed.
DMF’s recent photo albums are here – a good way to see what we’ve been up to. We hope to see you at a future event!
