Del Mar Foundation: An Artful Wrap to DMF’s 40th Year

The Del Mar Foundation has made one last community grant to wrap up yet another active and productive year, providing funding to support the City’s Arts Advisory Committee’s (AAC) children’s holiday art project.

As in the past few years, art canvases are distributed to nine area schools, including Del Mar Hills Academy, Del Mar Heights Elementary, and the Winston School. Classes of students at these schools are now at work making creative and colorful artwork to brighten our holiday season. These artworks will soon be displayed in the windows of downtown stores and restaurants. We expect this year’s art will be as original and inspiring as ever. Be sure to keep an eye out over the holiday season.

Regarding another partnership between the Foundation and AAC, you may recall that in September of 2021, we provided full funding and management support for a program bringing five contemporary art sculptures for public display that you have seen around downtown as part of the AAC’s Temporary Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit. All five pieces are now available for sale. Visit our website to learn more about these sculptures, the artists who created them, and how they can be purchased: www.delmarfoundation.org/art/.

Many thanks to our donors whose generosity makes all our events and community grants possible; watch your mail for our 2022 Year In Review. And if you haven’t donated before to support our work, we hope you’ll be inspired to donate this year: www.delmarfoundation.org/donate.
