Congratulations to incumbent City Council Members Gaasterland and Worden on their re-election to serve four more years on the Del Mar City Council. Here are the vote counts as of November 27th, with 99% of votes counted. Final certified results will be available on December 8th.
There are 3,245 registered voters in Del Mar, and 2,361 votes were cast in this election for a 73% turnout rate. Registered Democrats account for 46.9% of voters, registered Republicans 28%, and no party preference 20%.
Democratic candidates endorsed by the Sandpiper prevailed in the US House and CA Senate and Assembly races that include representation of Del Mar.
Jane Lea Smith was elected to the San Dieguito Union High School Board, Area 3 with 57.8% of the 15,404 votes cast.
