Council Candidates on the Horizon

Just four days from the August 12 deadline, four Del Mar people have pulled papers for City Council candidacy. Two incumbents, Mayor Dwight Worden and Council Member Terry Gaasterland, have gathered signatures and have signaled their intention to run for re-election.

Two other potential candidates who have pulled papers, but have not yet declared, are Chelsea Ziskin and Stephen Quirk. Ziskin has been before the DRB and Council in recent months dealing with a dispute concerning her plans to redesign her family’s house. Curiously, Quirk is the identical twin brother of Council Member Dan Quirk, both living in either side of a duplex. Ziskin and Quirk have not responded to inquiries about their potential candidacy.
