About the Planning Commission

THE PLANNING COMMISSION is the official planning body of the City of Del Mar. It is responsible for reviewing and then recommending to the City Council on all proposed changes to the Del Mar Community Plan and Zoning Codes; and for reviewing and deciding upon, subject to appeal, all applications for Variances, Special Use permits, Coastal Zone permits, and applications filed under the Subdivision Map Act within the City of Del Mar. The five members of the Planning Commission are appointed by the City Council to four-year overlapping terms.

Planning Commission Meetings

The Planning Commission meets regularly on the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 6:00 PM. Special meetings and workshops are held occasionally. The Planning Commission meets in the Del Mar Communications Center, 240 Tenth Street, Del Mar.
