This election will and should be issue-driven.

1) I wholeheartedly support the 1% sales tax initiative with the funding used initially for undergrounding, the Shores Park improvements, and Cityscape.

2) I support exploring better public safety and community policing focusing on improving crime response times.

3) The DRB issue is very volatile and I hope to bring a real “sense of reason” to make this exercise a win-win for our community.

4) We need to find solutions to the Short Term Rental issue now. Del Mar is turning into one large hotel and that has got to change. I support the Community Plan, strong enforcement tools, and restore our sense of community.

I have lived in Del Mar and area for over 44 years and have participated in Del Mar community committees such as 1) the Underground Utilities Committee, 2) the Railroad Quiet Zone Committee, and currently, 3) the Del Mar Finance Committee. I understand the value and contributions the committee system brings to our community.

I have always been very active with charitable efforts, as well. I have served on the Magdalena Ecke Encinitas YMCA Board for over 20 years. Current involvement includes positions on the Corporate YMCA Board and the UCSD Athletic Foundation Board. I am also very active with the Community Resource Center, the Monarch School, and the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

I am running for City Council because I want to see many of the current important worthwhile projects come to fruition.
