On June 4, the Del Mar Farmers Market opened for business in its new location at the Upper Shores Park. With help from the Del Mar Community Connection’s Jo Morgenthal and Tom McGreal, the relocation has proceeded smoothly. As with all moves, there were a lot of details to pull together. New signage, maps, helping the vendors settle in and assisting customers were just some of the tasks.

The new site has dictated a new configuration of the same number of produce and prepared food vendors into what feels like a busier, cozier market. Several seating areas with new umbrellas are scattered amongst the vendors. Early positive reviews from shoppers about the location are encouraging. The beautiful ocean view and cool breezes at the upper Shores help mitigate the longer walk up from the parking area. ADA parking has been located in a strip south of the baseball field with access through the hotel parking lot. Only a few customers have had difficulty finding the new location.

The Farmers Market invites the Del Mar community to come see the new set up at Shores Park every Saturday, from 1:00 to 4:00. All the wonderful fresh produce and delicious prepared foods, fresh fish, flowers, coffee, cheeses, candy, nuts, eggs and jams are available. Come shop, and stay for lunch while listening to various musicians in a beautiful setting.
