Book Corner:
What are DEL MARIANS reading?
Virginia Lawrence | Caminito Del Rocio

When Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Richard Ben Cramer died in January, his book What It Takes was described as “a prodigious account of the 1988 presidential election that has been widely hailed as among the finest books about American politics ever written.” I had read Cramer’s obit on my iPad, and within 1 minute I had downloaded What It Takes to my Kindle app. I have read all the books listed below in the past 12 months and can recommend them all. All are available for other eBook readers, as well as in hard copy for those who prefer paper pages. Virginia Lawrence | Caminito Del Rocio

What It Takes: The Way to the White House - by Richard Ben Cramer.

Tango: An Argentine Love Story - by Camille Cusomano.

La Seduction: How the French Play the Game of Life - by Elaine Sciolino.

Following Atticus: All 48 four-thousand-foot peaks in the White Mountains of New Hampshire - by Tom Ryan.

The Wave: In Pursuit of the Rogues, Freaks and Giants of the Ocean - by Susan Casey.

Note: The Sandpiper intends to solicit recommendations from various Del Mar book clubs.
