Follow the Money
Dave Druker | 10th Street

Follow the money. Now is the time for citizens to tell the City Council what they want to happen for the next two fiscal years. Once a budget is adopted, it is much more difficult to get financial support for new programs. It is not necessary to comb through all of the complex financial documents to express your ideas--simply use lay terms to tell the Council what you think is important.

The City of Del Mar is currently preparing Fiscal Years 2013-2014 & 2014-2015 Proposed Operating & Capital Budget and it will be distributed to the City Council and the City Finance Committee by the end of April. A copy of the Proposed Budget will be available at City Hall, Finance, the City website, and the Library for review by May 6th. Budget Workshops are scheduled for Monday, May 13, 2013 from 4:00-8:00pm and Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 1:00-5:00pm. Adoption of Fiscal Years 2013-2014 & 2014-2015 Operating & Capital Budget is tentatively scheduled for Monday, June 3, 2013. If you would like to purchase a copy of the Proposed Budget, please contact City Hall.
