With emphasis on ocean-oriented and family-centric films, the third annual Del Mar Shores Cinema Series will be held Friday and Saturday, September 7 and 8, at the Del Mar Shores Park, Ninth Street and Stratford Court. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and beach chairs to join in viewing a number of award-winning films on the outdoor big screen.
The free movie nights begin Friday, Sept. 7 at sunset (around 7:30 p.m.) with a trio of award-winning surf films, including Salmon Theory and Manufactoring Stoke. The Saturday films include Amazing Jellies, followed by Willem & the Whales and the feature presentation, Big Miracle, starring Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski.
VIP seating with lawn chairs and picnic baskets, as well as wine and cheese baskets and movie treats, can be purchased and reserved online at www.delmarshores.org or www.facebook.com/delmarcinema or calling 858 755-6434. Food trucks also will be available at 6 p.m.
The Del Mar Shores Cinema Series is a featured community event of Friends of Del Mar Parks, a 501©3 organization whose mission is to acquire, preserve and support recreational and educational open spaces in the Del Mar area for the benefit of the greater Del Mar community.
