So far only Don Mosier has stated that he will be running for reelection. A number of people have asked Sherryl Parks to run. Other possible candidates are considering a run. With Carl Hilliard running for supervisor there may be at least one open seat.
Carl Hilliard, Steve Danon, and Dave Roberts have been joined by Encinitas resident Brian Zeigler and Escondido resident Stephen Pate. Dave Roberts has been endorsed by current Supervisor Pam Slater-Price. Initially Dave Roberts was endorsed by former San Diego County Sheriff Bill Kollendar, but he has withdrawn that endorsement so that he could support his old friend Carl.
Democrats Scott Peters and Lori Saldana will be facing off at least one other Democrat – Shirley Decourt-Park and a host of Republicans – Brian Bilbray, Gene Carswell, Wayne Iverson, John Stahl and John Subka.
Darrel Issa will be running against Democrat Jerry Tetalman. Also in the race are Dick Eidne and Albin Novinec. This district is solidly Republican and most likely Darrel will win the seat in the June primary.
