In January, construction began on another sidewalk improvement project along Camino del Mar. This year’s Streets and Drainage Improvements Project will result in unbroken pedestrian access along the western half of Camino del Mar from 4th Street to 15th Street as the sidewalk gap that previously existed between 9th & 11th Street will be addressed. The project also includes new American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant pedestrian ramps at 9th, 10th and 11th Streets, drainage improvements, traffic signal upgrades, and pavement rehabilitation. Construction is expected to cost approximately $460,000 and is on schedule for completion in April.

Project funding includes $312,000 in TransNet funds and $36,965 in Community Development Block Grant Funds, with the remaining costs picked up through the City’s General Fund.
