CARING FOR YOUR FAMILY, YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD

What to do during emergencies? How can one person make a difference in the neighborhood? Can a person with no prior training learn skills to use during disasters?
These are just some of the questions we ask ourselves.
The Del Mar/Solana Beach Fire Dept. is offering a FREE program to train residents in basic skills that are necessary in our community in the event of a major disaster if emergency services personnel are not immediately available or are overwhelmed.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program provides basic education in First Aid, triage, simple search and rescue, basic fire fighting, giving emotional support in emergencies, CPR/AED and options for HAM radio license, Shelter Management and much more.
We have had twenty Del Mar residents who have completed this training and have found it to be most worthwhile (and fun!)…but wouldn’t it be great to have a CERT trained person in your neighborhood? Is there one?
The next training session begins April 17th and lasts for 3 weeks (2 Saturdays and 3 week day evenings).
