The Del Mar Foundation has recently added a Children's Committee. Current members are parents wanting to meet other parents and plan fun activities for children. They meet on the second floor of the Powerhouse Community Center on the last Wednesday of every month. Visitors are welcome.
Lisa Lutz, Chairperson, states that the Children's Committee has already developed several activities to be held in conjunction with the monthly Children's Concert. On Sunday, February 3, kids can learn about and make "Sailor's Valentines," or seashell-covered boxes, and traditional Valentine's Day cards. The Committee and the Del Mar Library will provide supplies, but children may bring their favorite seashells to use as well. It all happens at noon on the second floor of the Powerhouse Community Center. The Children's Concert will follow at 1pm on the ground floor.
At noon on Sunday, March 2, the Committee will provide a "Cat in the Hat" crafts activity honoring Dr. Seuss, whose birthday is that same day. Again, the activity will precede the Children's Concert. As the weather warms, the Children's Committee will offer different kinds of programs, both outdoors and in. For further information, call the Foundation at 635-1363 or email: email@example.com .
