A Brief History of the Lagoon by Jacqueline Winterer

At the end of the 19th century, the San Dieguito Lagoon was a thousand-acre wetland that included salt and brackish marsh, tidal embayments, sloughs and mudflats that were progressively developed for a variety of commercial and residential uses.

The Infamous Stringdusters:  Friday, March 21, 7pm. and 9pm at the Powerhouse, a hot young band recently named Emerging Artist of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association, will be appearing at the Del Mar Powerhouse in two shows, cosponsored by the DMF and the San Diego Bluegrass Society. People knew Jerry Finnell as a wise, patient friend and public figure, and as a fun guy.

Jerry loved to dance. His renowned sense of responsibility was not his only reason for attending and supporting all the Del Mar fundraisers and community events. He loved sharing good times with his wife Kathy and his many friends.  more>>
